Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to address the "catastrophic consequences" of Israeli aggression in Palestine. He highlighted the importance of protecting innocent civilians and establishing a new reality where Palestine can enjoy peace, in accordance with international law. He noted, "This year’s Eid al-Adha arrives while our brothers in Palestine continue to suffer due to Israeli aggression."
The Crown Prince made these remarks during the annual reception for leaders of Islamic nations and prominent figures, held on Saturday at Mina Palace. This event, organized on behalf of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, welcomed guests from various governmental bodies and delegations who performed the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
In his address, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated, "On behalf of my esteemed father, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, it is a pleasure to congratulate you and all Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha." He prayed for the continued security and stability of the Kingdom and all Muslim nations, asking Allah to accept the pilgrims’ Hajj and return them safely to their families.
The Crown Prince expressed pride in Saudi Arabia’s role in serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, including pilgrims and tourists. He affirmed that the Kingdom prioritizes this responsibility and dedicates all its resources to facilitate the rituals for its guests. "With God’s help, Saudi Arabia will continue to fulfill this noble duty," he added.
Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, Secretary-General of Jerusalem and Palestinian Territories, spoke on behalf of the Muslim World League. He highlighted that one of the primary goals of Islam and the Hajj is to maintain the unity of the Muslim community. He emphasized the importance of fostering brotherhood, cooperation, and love among Muslims of diverse backgrounds, aiming to bridge differences and unite hearts.
Sheikh Hussein remarked, "Saudi Arabia has earned a significant place in the hearts of Muslims. It has worked diligently to unify the Muslim ranks and fulfill the aspirations of Muslim nations through a wise and balanced approach that reflects the true essence of Islam."
The Secretary-General expressed deep appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s historical support for the Palestinian cause. He praised the Kingdom’s leadership in international efforts to halt the atrocities in Gaza and its commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis caused by Israeli occupation. He acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to garner international support for the recognition of a Palestinian state.
Sheikh Mohammed Abu Khair Shukri, Syria’s Minister of Awqaf, expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their exceptional efforts in facilitating the Hajj pilgrimage. He noted that this year’s season continues the Kingdom’s longstanding tradition of easing the pilgrimage process, reflecting its historical commitment to serving Islam and Muslims.
He highlighted the comprehensive and sustainable development of infrastructure and smart services, showcasing the impact of Saudi Vision 2030. He noted that pilgrims experienced significant improvements in service quality, thanks to advanced electronic systems and mobile applications.
Sheikh Abu Khair praised the meticulous planning and unprecedented preparations made by authorities to enhance services for pilgrims. He reaffirmed the support of Hajj mission leaders for the Saudi efforts to implement regulations aimed at ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims, free from any political agendas that could undermine the sanctity of this great religious duty.
