President Alimi Convenes Meeting to Address National Conditions

On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened a focused meeting with government officials and governors from liberated provinces. Among the notable attendees were Sultan Al-Aradah, Governor of Marib, and Salem Al-Khanbashi, Governor of Hadhramaut, along with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Sha’if Al-Zandani.

Focus on Coordination and Collaboration

The primary objective of the meeting was to address pressing national developments and strengthen coordination between the government and local authorities. This cooperative effort aims to improve living conditions and enhance essential services for citizens. The Central Bank Governor, Ahmed Ghaleb, and Head of the Economic Team, Hossam Al-Sharjabi, also participated in the discussions, providing updates on national economic developments.

Participants evaluated government performance at both central and local levels over recent months, reviewing comprehensive reform pathways and key economic performance indicators. Plans for managing and developing both sovereign and local revenues were discussed, emphasizing the importance of efficient spending directed toward crucial priorities.

Strengthening Security, Stability, and Anti-Corruption Efforts

The significance of teamwork was underscored to ensure the successful implementation of economic, financial, and administrative reforms. Participants stressed the need to enhance the performance of revenue-generating agencies and promote principles of governance and transparency. The improvement of essential services, especially in electricity, water, roads, health, and education, was given top priority.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the critical need for coordination between local authorities and central agencies to establish security and stability. This collaboration aims to combat smuggling and illegal immigration while addressing land encroachments and eliminating unauthorized tax collection points.

In this context, the commitment to implementing the Presidential Leadership Council’s decisions was reaffirmed, particularly Decision No. (11) of 2025, which mandates the deposit of all resources into the government’s general account and the closure of any accounts outside the Central Bank.

Acknowledging Progress and Saudi Arabia’s Role

President Alimi commended the progress achieved in the reform program, noting advancements from budget preparation to the establishment and activation of critical institutions such as the Wounded Authority and the Health Fund. However, he emphasized the continued need to activate anti-corruption mechanisms and ensure ongoing monitoring to sustain these achievements.

He also expressed gratitude for the support received from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, acknowledging its effective role in alleviating citizens’ suffering and bolstering resilience. President Alimi emphasized that the strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia represents a historic opportunity for further advancements.

Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidential Office, attended the meeting as well, reinforcing the importance of adhering to the legal frameworks governing the relationship between components of executive authority in accordance with the constitution and law.
