Permanent Observer for Palestine: Israel is at war with the United Nations and Palestinian civilians.

Palestinian Observer at the UN Highlights Humanitarian Crisis

Ongoing Suffering of the Palestinian People

Ryad Mansour, the Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations, emphasized the dire situation facing the Palestinian people. He described their suffering as a result of ongoing blockades, bombings, and forced displacement. Mansour asserted that these actions by the Israeli occupation have crossed all red lines, representing a blatant violation of international law.

Israel’s War Against Supporters of Palestine

In his address to the UN Security Council, Mansour stated that the Israeli occupation aims to silence those who support Palestinians, expose the crimes committed against them, and hold the perpetrators accountable. He argued that Israel is currently waging a war against the United Nations itself.

Legislation Targeting UN Relief Efforts

Mansour criticized a recent law passed by the Israeli Knesset, which seeks to restrict the ability of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to assist Palestinian refugees. He labeled this legislation as a serious escalation in Israel’s ongoing war against the UN and a part of the sustained attack on the rights of the Palestinian people.

Call for Immediate Action from the Security Council

Mansour urged the UN Security Council to take immediate action to honor the victims of violence and to salvage what can be saved. He called for an unconditional and immediate ceasefire, the facilitation of humanitarian aid, the implementation of Security Council resolutions, and the end of impunity. He stressed the need to ensure accountability and to put an end to the injustices faced by the Palestinian people.

The situation in Palestine remains critical, with calls for international intervention growing louder. As tensions escalate, the need for urgent humanitarian support and accountability becomes increasingly vital. The international community must respond to the ongoing crisis to uphold human rights and restore peace in the region.
