108K Children Vaccinated Against Polio in Marib Campaign
In a recent immunization drive against polio in Marib province, vaccination teams have successfully inoculated approximately 108,717 children under the age of five across all the districts of the province. According to the final report issued by the operations room of Marib’s Health Office, the vaccination campaign achieved a coverage rate of 107% of the targeted children, surpassing the initial goal of reaching 102,456 children.
The campaign, which was extended to a fourth day, ran from July 15 to July 18. This extension was aimed at ensuring all children from birth up to five years old were vaccinated, including those not previously covered due to the ongoing influx of displaced families into the province.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Abadi, the Director-General of Marib’s Health Office, commended the efforts of all individuals involved in the campaign. He highlighted the cooperation of official and popular entities, social figures, and media personnel, which facilitated the mobility of the mobile vaccination teams, allowing them to reach all targeted areas within the province.
This initiative underscores the collective commitment to public health and the eradication of polio, contributing to the global effort to protect children from this debilitating disease.
