Minister of Youth and Sports Outlines National Youth Empowerment Plan Implementation

On Sunday, Naif Al-Bakri, the Minister of Youth and Sports, held a significant meeting in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, with the Youth Working Group. The central agenda of this meeting was the implementation of the National Youth Empowerment Plan, which aims to enhance the role of youth in the nation’s development.

Preparations for Upcoming Workshops

During the meeting, participants reviewed the preparations for two forthcoming workshops. These sessions are designed to reinforce the fundamental concepts of the National Youth Empowerment Plan and will specifically target ministry leaders and staff. The discussions also encompassed the plan’s priorities, which will be executed in partnership with international organizations, government entities, active youth groups, and representatives from the private sector.

Acknowledgment of Collaborative Efforts

In attendance were the ministry’s deputies, Dr. Azam Khalifa and Dr. Munir Lamah. Minister Al-Bakri commended the Youth Working Group for their dedicated efforts during the previous phase, highlighting their coordination in preparing the National Youth Empowerment Plan. He underscored the importance of transitioning from the planning stage to practical implementation, emphasizing that this shift is critical for achieving the desired objectives and making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people.

Establishing a Unified Platform for Youth Work

Minister Al-Bakri called for the establishment of a dedicated platform for youth work to unify efforts and enhance coordination among various stakeholders, ensuring efficient and effective program execution. He also stressed the necessity of preparing a comprehensive file that outlines the plan’s outputs and specifics, which will be submitted to the government for approval and support.

The National Youth Empowerment Plan comprises four essential pillars: health and well-being, participation and inclusion, system enhancement, and education for employment. Together, these components aim to foster a holistic approach to youth development. This initiative marks a significant step towards empowering the youth and encouraging their active participation in the advancement of society.
