Meteorologists predict continued extreme heat and thunderstorms in several regions.

Weather Forecast: Hot and Humid Conditions Persist

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s weather forecasting center has predicted that hot and humid conditions will continue in coastal areas and nearby regions. The weather will vary between clear and partly cloudy, with a chance of scattered rain in parts of the eastern and western coasts, as well as the Socotra Archipelago. Winds will intensify around the archipelago and southern coasts.

Mountainous Regions: Partly Cloudy with Thunderstorms

There is a likelihood of thunderstorms, some of which may bring heavy rain and hail to the western and southwestern slopes. This weather pattern may extend to parts of Lahij, Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadramout.

Dry and Hot Conditions in Desert Areas

The center also forecasts continued dry and hot weather in desert and plateau regions during the day, with moderate temperatures at night. Thunderstorms may occur in parts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Marib, and Al-Jawf. Moderate to strong winds will stir up dust and sand in these areas.

Marine Conditions: Caution for Fishermen

In its maritime report, the center predicts that sea conditions in Bab al-Mandab and western coasts will be mild. In the coasts of Shabwa, Abyan, and Aden, conditions will range from mild to moderate. However, the seas will be moderate to rough in Al-Mahra and Hadramout, and rough in the Socotra Archipelago. The Red Sea and Gulf of Aden will experience moderate conditions, while the Arabian Sea will be very rough.

The center has reiterated its warnings to fishermen and ship captains in eastern and southern coasts, as well as in the Gulf of Aden and around the Socotra Archipelago, regarding rough seas, high waves, and strong winds.
