Meteorologists Forecast High Temperatures with Rain in Coastal and Highland Areas

Weather Overview

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s weather prediction center has issued a forecast for Monday, indicating a mix of weather conditions across various regions of Yemen. Residents should prepare for high temperatures and potential rainfall in certain areas.

Coastal Areas: Clear to Partly Cloudy

The coastal regions, including Socotra Island, are expected to experience clear to partly cloudy skies. Daytime temperatures will range from hot to very hot, while nighttime conditions will be moderate. There is a possibility of scattered rain, along with thunder activity, particularly along parts of the western coast. Winds are anticipated to remain light to moderate throughout the day.

Mountainous Regions: Cloudiness and Thunderstorms

In the mountainous areas, weather conditions are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy. The forecast includes a chance of scattered thunderstorms, especially in the northwestern highlands, stretching from Saada to Lahij and Abyan. Meanwhile, the desert and plateau regions will experience hot to very hot weather during the day, with moderate winds expected at night.

Desert and Plateau Regions

  • Seiyun: 40°C / 21°C
  • Marib: 37°C / 24°C
  • Ataq: 36°C / 25°C
  • Bayhan: 36°C / 25°C

Mountainous Regions

  • Sana’a: 29°C / 15°C
  • Taiz: 31°C / 18°C
  • Dhamar: 27°C / 12°C
  • Al-Dhale: 30°C / 19°C
  • Ibb: 29°C / 17°C
  • Al-Bayda: 28°C / 12°C

Meteorological Warnings

The meteorological authority has issued the following warnings:

  • Avoid staying in flood-prone areas and valleys where rain is anticipated.
  • Exercise caution due to hot to extremely hot conditions in desert and coastal regions.

Sea Conditions

Waves will remain light along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the western coasts, as well as in the waters of the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea.
