Meteorological forecasts predict mild weather along the coasts and severe cold in the mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast: Mild Conditions Expected Along Coastal Areas

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Prediction and Early Warning Center has announced that Thursday will bring partly cloudy to clear skies and moderate temperatures in coastal regions. There is a possibility of light, scattered rain over the Socotra Archipelago, southern and southwestern coasts, and adjacent areas. Winds will strengthen along the southern and western coastlines.

Mountainous Regions to Experience Cold Nights

The center’s daily report indicates that mountainous areas will experience dry and moderate weather during the day, transitioning to very cold to extremely cold conditions at night and early morning. Fog may develop in some parts. Meanwhile, desert and plateau regions will remain clear and dry, with moderate daytime temperatures and chilly to very cold nights, accompanied by moderate winds.

  • Zinjibar: 29°C / 23°C
  • Lahij: 28°C / 23°C

Desert and Plateau Regions:

  • Seiyun: 28°C / 13°C
  • Marib: 26°C / 13°C
  • Ataq: 27°C / 16°C
  • Bayhan: 24°C / 14°C

Mountainous Areas:

  • Sana’a: 24°C / 06°C
  • Taiz: 25°C / 13°C
  • Dhamar: 24°C / 05°C
  • Al-Dhale: 23°C / 11°C
  • Ibb: 25°C / 10°C
  • Al-Bayda: 24°C / 07°C

Safety Precautions Advised

The center urges citizens, particularly the elderly and children in mountainous and desert areas, to take necessary precautions against extreme cold during the night and early morning. Farmers, livestock breeders, and beekeepers should also be aware of the potential impacts of low temperatures on their crops and livestock.

Marine Conditions and Warnings

In its marine bulletin, the center predicts that sea conditions will be slightly choppy along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, and Shabwa. The waters off Abyan, Aden, and the western coasts, as well as the Socotra Archipelago, will experience light to moderate waves, while the Bab al-Mandab Strait will see moderate waves. Fishermen and sea-goers in the southern and western coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and southern Socotra should exercise caution due to potential sea disturbances.
