Meteorological Authority predicts extremely hot weather in coastal and desert areas, with rain expected in some mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast Warns of Severe Conditions Across Yemen

The Meteorological and Early Warning Center, part of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, released its weather forecast today, Sunday. The report warns of unstable weather conditions affecting several coastal, mountainous, and desert regions. Additionally, maritime warnings have been issued for the waters around Socotra and the Arabian Sea.

Coastal Weather Conditions

The daily bulletin predicts partly cloudy to clear skies along the coastal areas. Residents can expect hot and humid conditions during the day, transitioning to mild temperatures at night. There is a possibility of scattered rain showers in some southern and eastern coastal regions. Winds will remain active along the western and southern coasts, while strong winds will persist around the Socotra Archipelago.

Mountainous Regions Forecast

In the mountainous areas, the forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with varying intensity of rain accompanied by thunder in parts of the western highlands, as well as in the Lahij and Abyan highlands. The authority also anticipates dusty and dry weather in desert and plateau regions, with temperatures rising significantly, reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius.

Safety Precautions Advised

The center emphasizes the importance of taking necessary precautions to cope with the hot weather and potential flooding risks. Citizens are advised to avoid direct sunlight and to increase fluid intake to stay hydrated.

Maritime Warnings

In the maritime bulletin, the authority warns of severe disturbances in the sea around the Socotra Archipelago, the Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Aden. Fishermen and ship captains are urged to exercise extreme caution in areas experiencing high waves and strong winds.
