A significant meeting held today in Taiz, chaired by Governor Nabil Shamsan, focused on addressing the demands of teachers and resuming the educational process in the province. The meeting included the Secretary-General of the Yemeni Teachers’ Union, Abdul Rahman Al-Maqtari, along with various education officials.
During the meeting, attended by directors from the Education, Civil Service, and Finance offices, Governor Shamsan praised the cooperative spirit of the Teachers’ Union. He emphasized the critical nature of the educational process for students and urged the formation of a joint committee. This committee will be led by the Deputy Governor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, with members from the Teachers’ Union and relevant government offices. Their task will be to study teachers’ demands and propose viable solutions.
Governor Shamsan highlighted the local authority’s commitment to elevating the status of teachers, recognizing them as the cornerstone of intellectual development for future generations. He reiterated that teachers represent the province’s most valuable asset.
Al-Maqtari, the Secretary-General of the Teachers’ Union, expressed gratitude for Governor Shamsan’s attention to teachers’ issues. He noted the meeting’s transparent and open discussions about the union’s demands aimed at alleviating teachers’ suffering.
The Director of the Education Office outlined that the joint committee will work closely with the Teachers’ Union at both local and central levels to address the demands effectively. He confirmed that the meeting concluded with an agreement to resume the educational process in the province’s schools.
The meeting also featured contributions from the Directors of the Finance and Civil Service offices, who discussed the measures they have initiated regarding teachers’ issues.
This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of local authorities and educational stakeholders to ensure that the educational process continues uninterrupted, ultimately benefiting the students of Taiz.
