The “Masam” project, dedicated to mine clearance in Yemen, has successfully dismantled landmines near residential areas in Bani Fa’id, located in the Midi district of Hajja Governorate. These mines pose a direct threat to civilian lives and property, including livestock.
Engineer Saif Al-Mashmari, the team leader, reported that the team received a notification from a local resident who discovered both individual and anti-tank mines near homes. In response, the team promptly deployed to the site to mitigate the risks these mines present to civilians.
Al-Mashmari stated, “In the initial hours of our preliminary inspection, the team successfully dismantled two individual mines.” He emphasized that field surveys continue in the area, which has been classified as high-risk. These efforts align with the ongoing mission of the “Masam” project to enhance security conditions for civilians.
Al-Mashmari added, “The team has issued warnings to residents, advising them to stay away from the site until all mines and war remnants are removed.” These warnings aim to ensure complete safety in the area, allowing citizens to carry out their daily activities without fear. Protecting civilian safety remains a top priority for the “Masam” project, which continues its efforts to secure affected regions.
