The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s “Masam” project successfully removed 819 landmines during the fourth week of August. These landmines, planted by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, posed significant threats in various Yemeni provinces.

Breakdown of Removed Explosives

The center reported that the removed landmines included 23 anti-personnel mines, 29 anti-tank mines, 764 unexploded ordnance, and 3 improvised explosive devices. This recent effort has increased the total number of landmines cleared since the beginning of August to 10,099.

Cumulative Impact of the “Masam” Project

Since the launch of the “Masam” project, the total number of landmines removed has reached an impressive 588,325. The Houthi militia has indiscriminately scattered these explosives across various regions, endangering the lives of civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
