The “Masan” demining project in Yemen has reported the discovery of 30 unexploded 85mm shells in the Salah al-Din area of the Al-Buraiqa district in Aden. This finding highlights ongoing concerns about the remnants of war in the region.
According to a statement from the project, the operations room in Aden received reports about video footage showing military remnants near the military airport in Salah al-Din. In response, project teams promptly collected, secured, and transported the shells to the first special operations team’s storage facility in Aden for safe disposal.
The project has reiterated its call for citizens to avoid approaching or tampering with suspicious objects. Instead, they encourage immediate reporting to the relevant authorities. This proactive approach aims to protect lives and property while enhancing the safety of local communities.
The ongoing efforts of the “Masan” project play a crucial role in addressing the dangers posed by unexploded ordnance in Yemen. By raising awareness and ensuring safe disposal, the project contributes significantly to community safety and recovery in post-conflict areas.
