Local activists have reported that the Houthi militia kidnapped community activist Amro Aljamai in the city of Ibb several days ago, detaining him in one of their prisons in the governorate’s center.
According to activists, Aljamai was abducted while purchasing vegetables at the wholesale market in the Al-Dhahr district. He was subsequently transferred to the governorate’s security administration without any explanation or charges being filed against him.
Local sources suggest that the kidnapping may be linked to a prior dispute between Aljamai and a Houthi leader from outside the governorate named Al-Jurmouzi. This incident reflects the militia’s ongoing targeting of community activists and local figures.
Activists, journalists, and social leaders in Ibb have demanded the Houthi militia release Aljamai promptly. They assert that his abduction is part of a broader pattern of violations aimed at silencing active community voices.
