A devastating fire erupted in a shopping mall on Aden Street in Marib, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 13 others. Emergency response teams, supported by police forces, managed to extinguish the flames and prevent further damage to surrounding businesses.
The fire broke out shortly after midnight, engulfing the entire Ibn Al-Haj Mall, including its second-floor storage area. A nearby shoe store also suffered complete destruction, while a furniture shop experienced partial damage. Fortunately, responders quickly moved the shop’s contents outside, which helped mitigate losses and limit the fire’s spread. Authorities reported that all fatalities and injuries were due to smoke inhalation.
An official source confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire. The source urged both traders and residents to adhere to safety protocols to protect lives and property.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures in commercial establishments. As the community mourns the loss, it also reflects on the need for heightened awareness and preparedness to prevent future tragedies.
