Liverpool’s victory came after they scored two goals within four minutes. Brighton’s defender Pascal Groß inadvertently opened the scoring with an own goal in the seventeenth minute. Shortly after, Swedish forward Alexander Isak added the second goal in the twenty-first minute.
Brighton entered the match riding high on a series of consecutive victories. However, the home team successfully secured the win, marking their first victory at Anfield in the league this season.
With this win, Liverpool raised their points total to fifteen, placing them fourth in the standings, just one point behind Brighton, who remains in third place.
