The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has entered into a partnership with a local civil society organization to establish a housing complex for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Midi District of Hajjah Governorate. This initiative aims to address the pressing needs of those affected by conflict in the region.
The agreement, signed by Engineer Ahmed Al-Bayez, the Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at the center, is valued at approximately $3.8 million. This project will directly benefit 4,094 individuals, providing them with essential shelter and services.
According to the center, the primary goal of this agreement is to deliver 232 affordable housing units for displaced families in the northwestern areas of the Midi District. Each unit will feature two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and an open courtyard.
In addition to housing, the project includes plans for a secondary school to cater to the educational needs of children living in the complex and the surrounding community. Furthermore, the development will incorporate a mosque and a playground for children, ensuring that the residents have access to vital community facilities.
This housing initiative represents a significant step towards improving the living conditions of IDPs in Hajjah. By providing safe and adequate housing, along with educational and recreational facilities, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting vulnerable populations in Yemen.
