King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center Signs Agreement for Water Supply and Sanitation Project

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has signed a cooperation agreement with a civil society organization to implement the seventh phase of its water supply and environmental sanitation project in Hajjah Governorate. The project is valued at $1,102,000.

Project Benefits and Reach

This initiative will benefit 30,422 individuals across the districts of Haran, Midi, Abs, and Haradh in Hajjah, as well as the Al-Azhar camp in the Razeh district of Saada. The project aims to significantly improve access to clean water and sanitation facilities in these underserved areas.

Key Activities Under the Agreement

Engineer Ahmed Al-Bayz, the Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs at the center, signed the agreement. The project will focus on several critical activities, including:

  • Drilling and rehabilitating solar-powered wells.
  • Supplying and installing pumping and distribution networks.
  • Constructing and renovating water storage and distribution tanks.
  • Providing and installing drinking water purification stations.
  • Transporting and distributing water via trucks.
  • Distributing water storage containers.
  • Implementing fogging and larvicidal campaigns to combat disease vectors.

These activities aim to reduce waterborne diseases and improve sanitation and hygiene conditions by enhancing access to clean water and sanitation facilities.

This partnership underscores the commitment of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center to address pressing water and sanitation needs in Yemen. By improving infrastructure and access to clean water, the project will contribute to the overall health and well-being of the communities it serves.
