Devastating Impact of Heavy Rainfall

Since June, Sudan has been grappling with severe rainfall, exacerbating an already dire situation. The IOM warns that the exceptional heavy rains expected in the coming days could affect up to 11 million people. The relentless downpour has not only heightened the humanitarian crisis but also inflicted considerable damage on civil infrastructure, including communication networks, water supplies, and roads, thereby complicating response efforts.

The tragic incident resulted in the death of at least 30 individuals and displaced more than 136,000 people across 14 states.
