Seventeen civilians, including six elderly individuals, five women, and six children, sustained injuries in Taiz city due to shelling carried out by Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime over the past 24 hours. Additionally, five citizens lost their lives, and others were injured in the rural areas of the governorate.
The Human Rights Office in Taiz governorate reported that the Houthi shelling targeted densely populated residential neighborhoods within the city. This attack resulted in multiple injuries and extensive damage to homes.
The office noted that the shelling also affected populated villages in rural Taiz, leading to the deaths of five citizens and injuries to others. Among the casualties was five-year-old Ahlam Abdul Salam, who died when shelling hit her family’s home in the Haesban area of the Al-Masrak district.
The office emphasized that these repeated assaults directly target residential areas, endangering civilian lives amid the ongoing Houthi escalation against the governorate.
