Hamoud Al-Husseini Strikes Again
Hamoud Al-Husseini has resumed his encroachment on the Thalathin Street in the Al-Hamami area, located northwest of Ibb City. He has constructed a five-meter-long sidewalk within the main road, sparking widespread public outrage once again. This incident follows a similar attempt nearly nine months ago, which faced significant public opposition.
Local Sources Report Security Protection
According to local sources, Al-Husseini’s actions occur under the protection of security forces loyal to Abu Ali Al-Kahlani, the Houthi-appointed director of security for the province. Al-Kahlani has reportedly halted any intervention from relevant authorities, effectively granting Al-Husseini the green light to continue his violations against public property.
Previous Halt and Current Support
Earlier this year, Al-Husseini paused his activities following a widespread media campaign against him. However, he has now resumed his encroachment, allegedly backed by direct support from Houthi leaders. Reports suggest that these leaders may have accepted bribes to overlook the ongoing violations.
Systematic Theft of Public Spaces
This encroachment represents a broader pattern of systematic theft affecting streets and properties in Ibb Province. The absence of official oversight, coupled with the complicity of militia leaders, has allowed such violations to persist unchecked.
