In Aden, the Waste Management Fund begins clearing roads, removing flood debris, and pumping out rainwater.

Major Cleanup Efforts Underway in Aden Following Heavy Rainfall

The Cleanliness and Improvement Fund has launched extensive field operations in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital, to address the aftermath of recent heavy rains. These efforts include clearing roads, drainage channels, and removing debris from the streets across various districts.

Local Authorities Respond to Rainfall Impact

In response to the rainfall, Aden’s First Deputy Governor, Mohammed Al-Shadhli, conducted a field visit to monitor the progress of road openings and rainwater drainage. He coordinated with local authorities to ensure a swift response to the flooding. Al-Shadhli emphasized the local leadership’s commitment to quickly addressing the effects of the rain and mitigating its consequences.

Cleanup Operations in Full Swing

Engineer Qaid Rashid, Director General of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund, reported that cleanup teams began their work immediately after the rain started. They focused on clearing main roads, starting with the primary street and the hill in the Al-Mualla district. Additionally, teams opened drainage channels in the Sayla area of the Sirah district and removed debris from both main and secondary roads.

Preparedness for Future Weather Events

Rashid stated that the fund was fully prepared to tackle the impacts of the recent weather system. He noted that field teams continue to work diligently around the clock, ready to respond to any emergencies or developments arising from the ongoing weather conditions.

Conclusion

The proactive measures taken by local authorities and the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund highlight the community’s resilience in the face of natural challenges. As cleanup efforts progress, residents can expect improved conditions and a quicker return to normalcy in Aden.
