Houthi officials are managing a network to facilitate the theft of land and properties belonging to endowments in Ibb Governorate.

Houthi Leaders Accused of Land Grabs in Ibb Governorate

In a troubling development, sources have revealed that influential leaders within the Houthi militia are allegedly involved in the illegal appropriation of land and properties belonging to the Awqaf (Endowment) authority in Ibb Governorate. This situation raises serious concerns about corruption and the misuse of power by these leaders.

A Network of Complicity

According to insiders, Houthi leaders have established a network of employees within the Awqaf office. This network reportedly facilitates the seizure of land, apartments, and other properties owned by the Awqaf authority. The sources indicate that several Houthi leaders, including those from outside the governorate, have benefited significantly from this operation. They have allegedly taken control of numerous apartments and shops, collecting the financial returns for their personal gain.

Seizure of Awqaf Properties

The sources further detailed that some Houthi leaders have unlawfully converted Awqaf apartments into their private properties. Additionally, they continue to receive profits from other Awqaf properties for their own interests. This pattern of behavior highlights a systematic approach to exploiting state resources for personal enrichment.

Ongoing Attacks on Awqaf Assets

The properties and lands belonging to the Awqaf authority in Ibb face frequent assaults and thefts. These incidents often involve Houthi leaders or influential individuals loyal to the militia, both from within and outside the governorate. The ongoing violations underscore the urgent need for accountability and protection of public assets in the region.

In conclusion, the allegations against Houthi leaders in Ibb raise significant concerns about governance and the safeguarding of public property. As these developments unfold, the local community and authorities must address these issues to restore integrity and justice.
