Houthi Militias Establish Missile Platforms and Heavy Weapon Storage in Southern Ibb

The Houthi militia has begun deploying missile platforms and heavy weapon storage in the mountainous areas of southern Ibb province, Yemen. Sheikh Haitham Al-Qaisi, the leader of the Dhiy Yashrq village in the Al-Sayani district, revealed this alarming development.

Recent Military Activities

In a recent video statement, Al-Qaisi detailed that over the past few weeks, the militia has set up platforms on Jalila Mountain in the Qahdhan village. Additionally, they have transported weapons and military supplies into newly constructed tunnels, which they accessed by paving roads. This transformation has effectively turned the mountain into a closed military zone, forcing local residents to evacuate.

Security Concerns for Local Citizens

Al-Qaisi raised serious concerns about the implications of these military installations on the safety and security of local citizens. He noted that the Houthi movements suggest preparations for military operations in nearby fronts, particularly in Taiz province.

Reports of Explosions and Military Presence

Residents have reported hearing loud explosions in the Al-Hayzam, Al-Humaira, and Dhiy Yashrq mountains. This coincides with a significant increase in military vehicles and personnel in the area. Observers suspect that the explosions result from construction activities aimed at building tunnels, trenches, and weapon storage facilities.

Ongoing Military Fortifications

Media and military reports indicate that the Houthi militia has consistently constructed fortifications, shelters, and tunnels in regions such as Sana’a, Amran, Saada, and Al-Hudaydah. They appear to be expanding these military installations across other provinces under their control.

This situation underscores the escalating military activities of the Houthi militia and raises urgent questions about the safety of civilians in the region.
