A Houthi militia leader has seized a citizen’s land in the Al-Houban area, east of Taiz, and cold-bloodedly murdered him along with two of his relatives. According to local sources, the citizen, Muadh Mohammed Saleh Al-Ziyadi, intended to build on a piece of land he had owned for years in the area. However, the Houthi leader, identified as Ali Amer Hussein, opposed him, claiming ownership of the land and led an armed attack that resulted in the deaths of the landowner and two others.
Sources report that the victims hailed from the village of Dalal in the Baidan district, east of Ibb Governorate. They were identified as Muadh Mohammed Saleh Al-Ziyadi, the landowner, Yousif Ali Musleh Hajjaj, and Ibrahim Ali Musleh Hajjaj.
The sources added that the perpetrators fled the scene after the crime. Among them were Ali Amer Hussein, Fawaz Ali Amer Hussein, Saddam Ali Amer, Abdul Jalil Mahyoub Al-Jahlani, and Dhiab Abdul Jalil Mahyoub Al-Jahlani, all reportedly from Marib Governorate.
In response, dozens of armed individuals from the Baidan district reportedly converged on the Al-Houban area to support the victims and demand the arrest of the culprits. Tensions have risen in the region due to recent armed mobilizations.
Areas under Houthi militia control are experiencing a security breakdown, with increasing incidents of crime, murder, theft, looting, and property seizures from citizens.
