The National Center for Health Education and Population Media, under the Ministry of Public Health and Population, organized an awareness event titled “Yemen Without Cholera” on Saturday in Aden, the temporary capital. This initiative received support from the World Health Organization and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
The event, held at Aden News Park, attracted a large crowd of citizens. Its primary goal was to educate attendees about cholera, including its transmission methods and prevention strategies. Participants received informative brochures detailing cholera and the best practices to avoid infection.
Dr. Ishraq Al-Sabahi, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, urged everyone to internalize the awareness messages shared during the event. She emphasized the importance of promoting health education within the community, particularly in managing various diseases and epidemics. Dr. Al-Sabahi highlighted that prevention is better than cure, stressing the need for collective efforts to enhance community awareness and foster positive behavioral changes regarding diseases, including cholera.
This event marks a significant step towards combating cholera in Yemen. By raising awareness and encouraging proactive health measures, the National Center for Health Education aims to empower citizens to take charge of their health and well-being.
