Egyptian player Hamza Abdelkarim made his official debut for FC Barcelona during a thrilling match against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Monday evening. The game concluded with Barcelona securing a 5-2 victory.
Abdelkarim entered the match as a substitute in the 86th minute after starting on the bench. Coach Hans Flick has included him in the first-team roster in recent matches, ultimately granting him the opportunity to participate officially.
Hamza has impressed fans and coaches alike during the preseason, netting four goals, including a standout performance against his former club, Al Ahly, in the Joan Gamper Trophy earlier this month.
In June, Barcelona activated the option to permanently sign Abdelkarim from Al Ahly. He signed a contract that extends until June 30, 2029. Since his transfer to Spain, he has scored six goals in 11 matches with the club’s youth teams.
