Yemeni Charge d’Affaires Discusses Community Issues with Egyptian Foreign Ministry

The Charge d’Affaires of the Yemeni Embassy in Egypt, Minister Plenipotentiary Yassin Al-Suwaie, met today with the Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, Ambassador Hidad Al-Juhari. They addressed several pressing issues concerning the Yemeni community in Egypt.

Challenges Facing the Yemeni Community

During the meeting, Al-Suwaie highlighted key challenges faced by Yemenis living in Egypt. One major concern involves the security clearance procedures for Yemeni students studying in the country. Additionally, they discussed the conditions of Yemeni prisoners in Egyptian jails and explored ways to alleviate penalties for some individuals. The situation of Yemenis stranded in the Gaza Strip also received attention.

Appreciation for Egyptian Support

Al-Suwaie expressed gratitude for the support provided by Egypt to the Yemeni community, especially given the ongoing crisis in Yemen since the Houthi militia’s takeover. He acknowledged the efforts made by the Egyptian government to assist Yemenis during these challenging times.
