Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, emphasized the sacrifices made by the fathers and grandfathers who ignited the Revolution of Freedom and Dignity in 1963. He noted that their blood marked a timeless national epic that culminated in independence and opened a new chapter in the history of South Yemen. Alimi called for everyone to stand in reverence and appreciation of their significant sacrifices.
In a post on the platform X, Dr. Alimi remarked on the occasion of the 63rd National Day of the October 14 Revolution. He stated, “Today, the sons and grandsons continue the path of resilience and struggle against the Iranian hegemony project and its arm, represented by the Houthi terrorist militias. These militias have brought calamities and tragedies upon our people, and their threat extends to the security of our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is a fundamental pillar for regional stability, as well as threatening international navigation and global interests.”
Alimi added that the South, which shattered the illusions of the Houthi militias in 2015 through the steadfastness and sacrifices of its people, will not serve as a battleground for their return or expansion today or tomorrow. He highlighted that the “Dawn of Yemen” operation embodies the determination and resolve to confront this project. He affirmed that ending this threat requires unifying efforts, mobilizing resources, and integrating efforts across the nation, both North and South.
He asserted that the will of the people, which creates victories, cannot be broken by projects of hegemony and tyranny. The wheel of history will not turn backward.
Dr. Alimi reiterated that the cause of the South, with its justice, sacrifices, and aspirations, does not accept monopolization or reduction. It cannot be used as a bargaining chip for settling scores. He pointed out that the people of the South, from various regions and orientations, who work today for its security and stability while facing the Houthi militia with determination, hold the rightful claim to determine their political status and future through their free will, away from guardianship and exclusion.
He expressed his gratitude and appreciation, coupled with feelings of respect and reverence, to the steadfast Taiz, the valiant Lahij, and all the heroes stationed at the fronts of honor and dignity. He directed a salute to the partners in blood and destiny in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Alimi called on the regional and international communities to fulfill their responsibilities in confronting this cross-border threat, which does not only endanger Yemen and the Kingdom but also threatens the security and stability of the region.
