Today, Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, visited Al-Mokha Port in Taiz Governorate. His visit focused on the port’s development and deepening plans, part of a broader initiative to transform it into a vital transportation hub for Yemen.
During his visit, Saleh reviewed the export activities of Yemeni agricultural products through the port to Gulf countries and the Horn of Africa. He emphasized the need to enhance exports and improve infrastructure to support the national economy. This focus on agricultural exports aligns with Yemen’s goal of increasing its presence in regional markets.
Saleh also met with several ship captains and port workers. He observed the loading and transportation processes of thousands of tons of coastal onions to neighboring countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other Horn of Africa nations. This engagement highlighted the port’s role in facilitating trade and economic growth.
In discussions with port staff, Saleh stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to enhance the port’s capabilities. He called for improvements in transportation and export services, recognizing their critical role in boosting Yemen’s economy. His visit underscores the government’s commitment to revitalizing key infrastructure and promoting economic development in the region.
By focusing on these initiatives, Yemen aims to strengthen its economic position and improve the livelihoods of its citizens.
