Meeting Focuses on Infrastructure Development in Yemen

Tarik Saleh Engages with Minister of Public Works

Today, Tarik Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Engineer Hussein Al-Aqrobi, the Minister of Public Works and Roads. The discussion centered on the ministry’s priorities for the upcoming period and the plans for rebuilding and rehabilitating infrastructure. These efforts aim to align with citizens’ aspirations and support economic and social stability in Yemen.

Welcoming the New Minister

At the beginning of the meeting, Saleh congratulated Al-Aqrobi on his new role, wishing him success in his duties. He emphasized the crucial role of the Ministry of Public Works in the ongoing “battle for construction and development,” which is vital for establishing stability in liberated areas.

2026 Infrastructure Plan Unveiled

Saleh received an overview of the ministry’s outline for its 2026 plan. This plan focuses on rehabilitating international roads and interprovincial connections, recognizing them as essential arteries for trade and humanitarian movement.

Enhancing Road Maintenance Efficiency

Saleh stressed the need to improve the efficiency of the Road Maintenance Fund. He highlighted the importance of focusing on strategic roads and vital access points that alleviate the hardships faced by citizens and travelers. Additionally, he pointed out the risks associated with deteriorating roads and transport infrastructure.

Accelerating Stalled Projects

The member of the Presidential Leadership Council also underscored the importance of intensifying efforts to complete stalled projects and enhance the urban appearance of cities. He noted that the current phase demands high efficiency in execution and transparency in resource management. This approach aligns with the comprehensive strategy of the state leadership, aiming to make a significant difference in citizens’ lives.
