Council member Sultan Al-Aradah meets with the National Coalition of Parties, emphasizing the need to strengthen national unity.

Unity Essential to Overcome Houthi Rebellion, Says Yemeni Leadership

Lieutenant General Sultan Al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the critical national responsibility of ending the Houthi rebellion and restoring the state’s institutions. He called for unity among all factions to address this pressing issue.

Meeting with Political Coalition

Al-Arada made these remarks during a meeting with the President and members of the National Coalition of Political Parties. The discussion focused on the latest developments in the national arena and strategies to strengthen national unity in the face of current challenges.

Current Situation Overview

During the meeting, Al-Arada provided a comprehensive overview of the country’s precarious situation. He stressed that this phase requires collective action to bolster national alignment and support the armed forces in their decisive battle against the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. The goal remains to end the rebellion and restore the state.

Call for Internal Cohesion

Al-Arada urged attendees to mend divisions and move beyond past mistakes. He highlighted the importance of focusing on the present and future, strengthening the internal front, and avoiding conflicts among various national forces. He noted that Yemen cannot afford further side conflicts and must prioritize the national interest.

Addressing National Challenges

The Lieutenant General called for a unified response to the challenges facing Yemen. He urged all parties to work together to alleviate the suffering of the people and fulfill their aspirations across various sectors.

Countering Houthi Narratives

Al-Arada also encouraged a strong republican voice against the Houthi narrative and its sectarian agenda, which threatens the state’s existence and undermines national unity. He advocated for a responsible political, media, and public discourse that represents all Yemenis and reflects their desire to restore a state that accommodates everyone, regardless of their affiliations.

Support from Political Coalition Leader

Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Dagher, the head of the National Coalition of Political Parties, expressed appreciation for Al-Arada’s commitment to engaging with political entities. He acknowledged the importance of unifying positions and enhancing national cohesion under the principles of the revolution and the republic.

Commitment to National Dialogue

Bin Dagher affirmed that the National Coalition has consistently worked to create a common space for dialogue and coordination among all political forces. The aim is to unify perspectives and positions on major national issues, particularly the need to end the Houthi coup and restore state institutions.
