Chinese authorities have evacuated 37,600 individuals from Guangdong Province in southern China following a severe wave of heavy rainfall that has affected large areas in recent days. The provincial Emergency Management Department confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far. In response to the situation, officials elevated the emergency response level to three, focusing on flood control and disaster relief.
Several cities within the province have implemented precautionary measures to combat the flooding. These measures include suspending classes and adjusting train schedules. The goal of these actions is to minimize risks associated with adverse weather conditions. Local governments have also enacted field measures tailored to the risk levels in each area.
The Guangdong Meteorological Observatory predicts that heavy to severe rainfall will continue in southern regions until today. The report indicates that the rainfall is expected to gradually subside starting tomorrow, Friday. These forecasts aim to inform citizens and guide them in taking necessary precautions.
Authorities in Guangdong are working to enhance their disaster response capabilities. They are focusing on developing quick and effective response plans to mitigate the impacts of flooding. Additionally, improving coordination among various agencies is a priority to ensure the safety of residents and provide assistance when needed.
