The family of kidnapped Nasra Al-Taezi warns of her deteriorating health condition.

Family Warns of Deteriorating Health of Abducted Elderly Woman

The family of 75-year-old Nasra Ahmed Mathna Al-Taizi has raised alarms about her declining health while imprisoned by Houthi militia in Sana’a. They report that her life is in grave danger due to a lack of access to medication, compounded by chronic health issues and systematic torture.

Severe Health Decline

In a Facebook post, her daughter, Nashwa, revealed that Nasra’s health has significantly worsened after the militia denied her medical treatment for an entire year. Nashwa also noted that two of her sisters and two brothers remain abducted by the Houthis, further intensifying the family’s suffering.

Financial and Emotional Violations

Nashwa added that the militia has seized the family home, which Nasra purchased 33 years ago, along with the family’s vehicle documents. This theft has exacerbated their hardships. Nasra suffers from diabetes and hypertension, and she has become unable to move amid fears of a stroke, all without receiving any medical care. The situation worsened after the Houthis abducted her son, who was responsible for providing her treatment.

Horrific Abduction Process

Nashwa described the abduction as “horrific.” The militia stormed their home and took Nasra while she was praying, binding her hands and terrorizing the family. The Houthis kidnapped Nasra Al-Taizi in late April of last year, part of a broader pattern of violations against civilians in areas under their control.

Urgent Calls for Intervention

Human rights sources indicate that the elderly woman has faced torture and has been denied visits and medical care. The family holds the Houthi militia fully responsible for Nasra’s life and urgently calls on human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene, ensuring her release along with the other abducted family members.
