The Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist threats issued by the Iran-backed Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia. These threats include unfounded allegations and irresponsible provocations that undermine regional security and stability. Furthermore, they pose a serious risk to maritime navigation, international trade, and innocent civilians, violating international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and relevant Security Council resolutions.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and published by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Bahrain reaffirmed its unwavering support for Saudi Arabia. The statement emphasized that the security of Saudi Arabia is integral to Bahrain’s own security. Bahrain fully backs Saudi Arabia’s legitimate measures to maintain its sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity.
Bahrain highlighted the urgent need for international collaboration to safeguard maritime security in the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb, and other vital waterways. Such efforts are crucial to ensure the safety of energy supplies and the flow of global trade.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Bahrain’s appreciation for the diplomatic, humanitarian, and developmental initiatives led by Saudi Arabia. These efforts aim to achieve a comprehensive and lasting political solution to the Yemeni crisis. Bahrain supports the Gulf Initiative, its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216. These measures are essential to preserving Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while fulfilling the aspirations of its people for security, stability, and sustainable prosperity.
Bahrain’s firm stance against Houthi threats and its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security reflect its dedication to regional stability and international law. The Kingdom continues to advocate for diplomatic solutions to ongoing conflicts, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation in the region.
