Yemeni and Russian Officials Discuss Bilateral Relations and Current Crises

In a significant meeting today, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, sat down with Yevgeny Kudrov, the Acting Russian Ambassador to Yemen. The primary focus of their discussion was on the latest developments in both national and regional arenas. They also reviewed the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council in addressing international initiatives aimed at achieving peace and resolving the Yemeni crisis.

Strengthening Coalition Efforts for Peace

The conversation also touched upon the role of the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, and international parties in supporting peace efforts. Al-Bahsani praised the historical relations between the two friendly nations, emphasizing the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation across various fields to serve the interests of both peoples. He expressed appreciation for the resumption of the Russian embassy’s operations from Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital.

Al-Bahsani underscored the need to double joint efforts to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in tackling the humanitarian and economic challenges facing the country. He called for enhanced coordination between the two sides to address current crises and find sustainable solutions that benefit the Yemeni people.

Russia Reaffirms Support for Yemen

On his part, Kudrov reaffirmed Russia’s steadfast support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the efforts of the Yemeni government. He committed to Moscow’s continued backing of crucial issues in Yemen. Kudrov extended an invitation to Al-Bahsani to visit Russia, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and continue joint consultations on matters of mutual interest.

This meeting marks a critical step in reinforcing Yemeni-Russian relations and underscores the international community’s role in seeking resolutions to the ongoing challenges in Yemen. Both parties’ commitment to peace and stability in the region opens avenues for further diplomatic engagement and cooperation.
