Official Report Reveals Displacement Crisis in Yemen

An official report from the Executive Unit for Managing Displaced Camps has revealed that 9,746 families, comprising 68,338 individuals, have been displaced across six Yemeni governorates as of September 10, 2026. This displacement results from the military escalation, bombardments, and clashes initiated by the Houthi terrorist militia.

Taiz Leads in Receiving Displaced Families

According to the report, the distribution of displacement across the governorates is as follows:

• Taiz: 5,799 families (40,710 individuals) – the highest number of displacements
• Lahij: 2,132 families (14,924 individuals)
• Al Hudaydah: 1,471 families (10,297 individuals)
• Abyan: 228 families (1,596 individuals)
• Adan: 104 families (728 individuals)
• Shabwa: 12 families (84 individuals)

Warning of Widening Humanitarian Gap

The Executive Unit has warned of the worsening plight of displaced families who have been forced to leave their homes and livelihoods without sufficient time to secure their basic needs. The report highlights a complete lack of humanitarian response for 104 recently displaced families in Adan, noting a severe shortage in the following services:

• Shelter
• Food
• Clean drinking water
• Sanitation

Urgent Call for Assistance

The Executive Unit has issued an urgent call to local authorities, United Nations agencies, international organizations, and donor entities to mobilize resources and provide immediate life-saving relief assistance. It emphasized the necessity of delivering emergency aid alongside conducting field assessments to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation for the displaced.
