Meeting in Mecca Focuses on Yemen-Saudi Business Council Participation

A significant meeting took place today in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, led by Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Al-Ashwal. The gathering included members of the Yemeni Business Council, financial experts, business leaders, and Yemeni investors. This meeting aimed to discuss Yemen’s participation in the upcoming Yemeni-Saudi Business Council talks, set to commence tomorrow and run for three days under the theme “Saudi Vision, Yemeni Development 2030.”

Enhancing Trade Relations Between Yemen and Saudi Arabia

During the meeting, which featured the presence of Abdul Majid Al-Saadi, head of the Yemeni side of the Business Council, participants explored strategies to strengthen trade relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The discussions focused on supporting the Yemeni economy and developing joint investment projects across various sectors, including industry, agriculture, fisheries, and comprehensive infrastructure services. These initiatives aim to drive sustainable strategic development and emphasize the importance of knowledge exchange between the two brotherly nations. Additionally, the meeting addressed existing challenges and identified available investment opportunities to enhance economic cooperation and trade exchanges, ultimately fostering a conducive business environment that accelerates Yemen’s economic growth.

Minister Al-Ashwal Highlights the Importance of Discussions

Minister Al-Ashwal underscored the significance of these discussions in promoting economic and commercial cooperation between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. He described the council’s success as a potential catalyst for establishing similar councils with counterparts in other countries. He emphasized the need for coordination and collective efforts within the council to address challenges effectively.

A Step Towards Economic Integration

Furthermore, Minister Al-Ashwal noted that the council represents a crucial step towards achieving economic integration between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. It marks a new beginning for collaboration in various fields and the exploration of available investment opportunities. He pointed out that Yemeni investments currently rank 13th among foreign investors in Saudi Arabia.

This meeting sets the stage for future cooperation and development, highlighting the potential benefits of a strengthened economic partnership between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
