On Sunday, the Executive Office of Lahij Governorate convened an extraordinary meeting led by Governor Ahmed Turki. The meeting focused on a report from a special committee that assessed the financial resources of government facilities in the province and explored strategies for their enhancement.
The meeting included key officials such as Lahij Deputy Governors Saleh Al-Bakri, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shubaiki, Muhammad Salam, Wadah Al-Halimi, and Abdul Fattah Al-Hujaili. Additionally, the directors of police in the province, Colonel Nasser Al-Shawhati, and the Finance Office, Fadl Haidara, participated. The committee presented findings from field visits to state offices that generate financial revenue.
The committee emphasized the importance of diligence in collecting official state fees. They noted that many government facilities in the province have not adequately registered or documented the information of those responsible for fee payments. The committee recommended establishing comprehensive databases for all individuals obligated to remit these fees.
During the meeting, Governor Turki stressed the need for state offices to prioritize the collection of legally mandated financial revenues. He highlighted the significant challenges facing Yemen on various fronts and urged officials to take immediate action.
Governor Turki assured that the local authority in Lahij would support government facilities with revenue-generating capabilities. This support aims to ensure the collection of state financial dues and promote prosperity. The governor emphasized the importance of utilizing these resources to enhance essential infrastructure and develop new projects that benefit citizens.
In conclusion, the Executive Office of Lahij is committed to improving financial resource management within government facilities. By focusing on effective revenue collection, the province aims to address current challenges and foster development for its residents.
