Civilian Injured in Landmine Explosion in Al-Mokha

A civilian sustained multiple injuries today following an explosion caused by a landmine left behind by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Al-Mokha, located in the western part of Taiz Governorate.

Incident Details

According to local sources reported by the September Net news site, the explosion occurred while a tractor driver named Mohammed Ahmed Al-Darboush was working in a farm in the “Al-Rama” area, north of Al-Mokha. The blast resulted in several injuries, prompting immediate medical attention. Al-Darboush was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Ongoing Threat of Landmines

The Houthi militia has planted hundreds of thousands of landmines and explosive devices in residential areas and public roads across various regions and cities in Yemen. This dangerous practice has led to thousands of civilian casualties, with women and children making up the majority of the victims.

The ongoing conflict in Yemen has created a perilous environment for civilians, particularly due to the widespread use of landmines. The international community continues to call for efforts to clear these explosives and protect innocent lives from further harm.
