Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Regions
The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s forecasting center has issued a weather report for Friday, predicting partially cloudy skies along coastal areas. Residents can expect hot daytime temperatures, transitioning to mild conditions at night. Scattered rain showers, occasionally accompanied by thunder, may occur in parts of the eastern coast, Socotra Archipelago, and southern shores.
Mountainous Areas: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected
In its daily weather bulletin, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the center forecasts cloudy to partly cloudy conditions in mountainous regions. There is a likelihood of varying intensity thunderstorms, potentially bringing hail to western highlands stretching from Saada in the north to Lahij in the south. This weather pattern will also extend eastward, affecting parts of Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Al-Mahra. Meanwhile, desert and plateau areas will experience clear skies, with hot daytime temperatures and moderate nighttime conditions. Winds in these regions will be moderate to active, stirring up dust and sand.

According to the weather bulletin, maximum and minimum temperatures for coastal and nearby areas on Friday are expected to be as follows:
- Aden: 36°C / 30°C
- Mukalla: 34°C / 28°C
- Hodeidah: 36°C / 30°C
- Socotra: 38°C / 26°C
- Mokha: 36°C / 30°C
- Al-Ghaydah: 36°C / 27°C
- Zinjibar: 36°C / 28°C
- Lahij: 37°C / 27°C
In desert and plateau regions, temperatures will be:
- Sayun: 42°C / 24°C
- Marib: 41°C / 26°C
- Ataq: 40°C / 24°C
- Bayhan: 39°C / 23°C
For mountainous areas, temperatures will be:
- Sana’a: 31°C / 14°C
- Taiz: 35°C / 20°C
- Dhamar: 29°C / 12°C
- Al-Dhale: 32°C / 20°C
- Ibb: 31°C / 16°C
- Al-Bayda: 30°C / 17°C
Safety Warnings for Citizens
The center urges citizens in areas expecting rainfall to avoid valleys and flood-prone areas during thunderstorms. Additionally, those in desert and coastal regions should take precautions against rising temperatures and direct sun exposure. Residents are advised to follow necessary guidelines to protect themselves from heat and sunstroke.
Marine Conditions and Warnings
In its daily marine bulletin, the forecasting center predicts calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the western shores. However, the waters around the Socotra Archipelago may experience moderate waves. The center warns fishermen and sea-goers near Socotra and eastern shores about potential sea disturbances, increased wave heights, and strong winds.
