The meeting, led by Yemen’s Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak and his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who also serves as the Foreign Minister, focused on a range of pivotal topics.

Prime Minister bin Mubarak briefed his Qatari counterpart on the latest developments in Yemen, including government strategies to address challenges, reforms, and efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption measures. He also highlighted peace efforts, the roadmap for the Red Sea, and addressed misconceptions linking Houthi escalation and piracy against commercial ships to the situation in Gaza.

The Yemeni Prime Minister praised the level of Yemeni-Qatari relations, expressing gratitude for Qatar’s continuous support under various circumstances, including its prompt response to assist those affected by recent rain disasters in Yemen. On his part, the Qatari Prime Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast support for Yemen and its people, emphasizing the desire to expand partnership frameworks with the Yemeni government.
