On Thursday, Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani, the Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, convened with the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif. The meeting focused on recent developments in Yemen and the broader region, with a strong emphasis on enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.

During the discussions, al-Barakani commended the solid relationship between Yemen and the United Kingdom. He expressed his gratitude for the UK’s unwavering support of Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy. Al-Barakani highlighted the crucial role of the UK in the United Nations Security Council, particularly in condemning Houthi terrorist attacks that threaten civilians and jeopardize international navigation in both the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
