The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has expressed its appreciation for the recent statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This statement reaffirms Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for Yemen, its people, and the legitimate government. The ministry highlighted Saudi Arabia’s role in bolstering state institutions and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni population. Additionally, it acknowledged Saudi efforts in political, economic, and humanitarian initiatives aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just peace, which is essential for enhancing Yemen’s security, stability, unity, and territorial integrity.
In a statement shared with the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry commended the Saudi statement for addressing the violations and actions committed by the Houthi militia against the Yemeni people and national resources. These actions have exacerbated humanitarian and economic suffering and prolonged the conflict. The ministry emphasized that Houthi claims of a blockade on Yemen merely serve as an attempt to evade responsibility for the deteriorating living conditions and to obstruct peace efforts.
The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to support the Yemeni government in implementing relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216. The ministry also called for a united front against the threats posed by the Houthi militia to regional and international security, as well as to maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Furthermore, the Republic of Yemen reaffirmed its support for the measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, including its maritime routes.
This collaborative stance underscores the importance of regional solidarity in addressing ongoing challenges and fostering peace in Yemen.
