Addressing Military Readiness Against Houthi Threats

The meeting, which included the Speaker of the House of Representatives Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, Prime Minister Dr. Shaif Al-Zandani, and Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Daghr, focused on the military’s readiness to counter the escalating threats from Houthi militias. Participants discussed mobilizing all resources for the battle to restore state institutions and end the ongoing coup.

Reports on Security Measures and Oil Export Resumption

Attendees reviewed military and security reports detailing coordinated efforts to address the Houthi threat. They emphasized the need to prevent any attempts to impose realities outside the state’s exclusive authorities. The meeting also covered the measures taken to resume oil exports, directing revenues to meet essential state obligations, including salary payments, service improvements, and economic stability. This approach aims to ensure that Yemen’s wealth benefits all citizens and prevents its use as a tool for extortion.

National Priorities: Restoring State Institutions

The council reaffirmed that restoring state institutions and protecting national sovereignty represent urgent national priorities. They called on all Yemeni citizens, across various factions, to rally around the armed forces and security agencies, supporting them in their constitutional duties. The council stressed that these forces are the only guarantee for restoring security and stability and ending the coup.

Commitment to Civilian Protection and International Law

The council reiterated the state’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and their resources while adhering to the highest standards of restraint and international law. They emphasized the importance of protecting civilians from any additional repercussions.

New Measures to Enhance State Readiness

The meeting approved a series of additional measures across military, security, economic, and administrative levels. These steps aim to enhance the readiness of state institutions to respond to various scenarios and challenges, ensuring a firm response to any threats to the country’s security and sovereignty, in line with established plans and assessments from relevant authorities.

Appreciation for Saudi Support and International Solidarity

The National Defense Council expressed deep appreciation for the supportive role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in backing Yemeni state institutions and promoting peace and stability. They also acknowledged the positive stance of the international community in condemning Iranian violations of Yemen’s sovereignty.
