Yemen Participates in 49th Grand Hajj Seminar in Jeddah

On Sunday, the Republic of Yemen participated in the 49th Grand Hajj Seminar held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni delegation was led by Minister of Awqaf and Guidance, Dr. Mohammed Shabeeb.

Objectives of the Seminar

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah organized the seminar, which saw broad participation from Islamic Hajj missions and a distinguished group of scholars and specialists in religious, medical, and media fields. The seminar aimed to highlight Saudi Arabia’s efforts in serving the guests of Allah, showcase developmental projects in the holy mosques, and promote a culture of calm intellectual dialogue on issues facing the Islamic community. Additionally, it addressed common challenges and reinforced the principle of collective action against ideological and cultural misconceptions. The seminar also aimed to support scientific communication with research institutions worldwide.

Minister Shabeeb’s Insights

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Minister Shabeeb emphasized the seminar’s importance as a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing recent legal and organizational developments related to Hajj. This year’s seminar focused on the topic of "physical and financial capability," exploring ways to enable pilgrims to perform their religious duties with ease. This approach aligns with the comprehensive vision that reflects the Islamic principles of facilitation and alleviating hardship.

Practical Applications of Islamic Teachings

Minister Shabeeb affirmed that these events embody the practical teachings of Islam. They provide a platform for discussing contemporary jurisprudential issues with the nation’s scholars and presenting them in the form of studies and actionable recommendations for the Hajj season.

Active Participation from Yemen’s Medical Delegation

The Yemeni medical delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Abdullah Dahan, actively participated in a workshop focused on health services. They reviewed efforts to enhance the health and safety of pilgrims and discussed preventive measures and rapid response plans for the Hajj season.

Media Strategies for Hajj Awareness

The media committee also engaged in a workshop that addressed media strategies for raising awareness about Hajj. Their goal was to enhance pilgrims’ understanding through interactive media campaigns.

Innovative Initiatives by Saudi Arabia

The seminar showcased several innovative initiatives launched by Saudi Arabia to improve Hajj services. These included upgrading infrastructure, expanding smart services, and implementing regulatory measures to ensure the safety of pilgrims while achieving the highest quality standards in service delivery.

The Grand Hajj Seminar also featured the participation of Deputy Minister of Awqaf Anwar Al-Amri, Undersecretary for Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mukhtar Al-Rabash, and various representatives from official, medical, and media missions.
