Today, Dr. Afrah Al-Zuba, Yemen’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, held a productive meeting with Yoichi Nakashima, the Japanese Ambassador to Yemen. The discussion centered on strategies to bolster bilateral cooperation between Yemen and Japan, particularly in the context of joint development initiatives and the technical and economic assistance that Japan extends to Yemen.
During the virtual meeting, several proposed initiatives for the upcoming period were reviewed. A key highlight was the discussion of a reconstruction workshop scheduled to take place next month in Aden. This workshop aims to leverage Japan’s extensive experience in post-World War II recovery, serving as a valuable framework for Yemen’s reconstruction efforts. The workshop will involve participation from various governmental bodies and international organizations.
Minister Al-Zuba underscored the significance of the bilateral relationship between Yemen and Japan, expressing gratitude for Japan’s ongoing support across multiple sectors, including health, education, water, and agriculture. In response, Ambassador Nakashima reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to enhancing its partnership with Yemen. He pledged to provide additional support for strategic projects that address Yemen’s immediate and long-term development needs.
This collaboration underscores the enduring friendship between Yemen and Japan, aimed at fostering sustainable growth and recovery within Yemen.
