Inauguration of Women’s Products Exhibition in Hadhramaut Highlights Economic Empowerment

Promotional Exhibition Highlights Women’s Contributions

Seiyun, Hadhramaut – Today, Jam’an Barba’a, the Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut for the Valley and Desert, officially inaugurated the eighth promotional exhibition dedicated to women’s products in Seiyun. This significant event, organized by the Women’s Development Administration at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, saw participation from 120 women representing productive families and artisans hailing from the districts of Seiyun, Tarim, and Qatn.

Empowering Women Economically

During his visit to the exhibition, Barba’a emphasized the urgent need to support and empower women economically. He highlighted the importance of encouraging local production initiatives and creating broader marketing opportunities for women’s products. The local authority, in collaboration with women leaders, aims to establish a permanent venue for showcasing and selling these unique products, thereby fostering sustainable economic growth in the region.

Annual Tradition and Training Initiatives

Ahmad Bahshwan, the Director General of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, explained that this exhibition has become an annual tradition, reflecting the increasing variety and quantity of women’s products across various professional, artisanal, and creative fields. This initiative demonstrates the local community’s commitment to supporting women’s contributions in diverse sectors.

In a related development, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hadhramaut Valley and Desert recently concluded a specialized training course on international commercial payments. Conducted in partnership with Yemen Bahrain Bank, this four-day course targeted professionals within the commercial sector to enhance their skills in modern international payment systems. Barba’a underscored the significance of equipping commercial professionals to adapt to advancements in international payment methods, aiming to boost commercial activity and improve the overall business environment. Meanwhile, Hassan Ba Taher, the Director General of the Chamber, noted that this training is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the private sector’s capabilities and empower workers with knowledge of modern systems.
