Ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey have strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza. These actions have resulted in the deaths and injuries of over 1,000 Palestinians in recent weeks.
The ministers emphasized that these violations represent a serious escalation. Such actions threaten to inflame tensions and undermine efforts to stabilize the region. This comes at a critical time when regional and international stakeholders are working to advance the second phase of the peace plan proposed by former President Donald Trump, alongside the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
The ministers noted that the ongoing violations pose a direct threat to the political process. They hinder efforts to create conditions conducive to a more stable environment in Gaza, both security-wise and humanitarian-wise. The ministers reiterated the necessity for full commitment to ensure the success of the second phase of the peace plan.
In light of the current situation, the ministers urged all parties to take responsibility during this critical phase. They called for maximum restraint to maintain the ceasefire and ensure its sustainability. Furthermore, they stressed the importance of avoiding any actions that could undermine ongoing efforts and create favorable conditions for early recovery and reconstruction.
The ministers reaffirmed the importance of achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace. This peace must be based on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state. They emphasized adherence to international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
