Today, the government issued two significant presidential decrees aimed at enhancing national security leadership.

Appointment of New Special Security Forces Commander

The first decree, numbered (5) for the year 2026, appoints Colonel Abdul Salam Qaid Abdul Qawi Al-Jamali as the new commander of the Special Security Forces. In addition to this important role, he has been promoted to the rank of Major General. This appointment reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening security operations.

New Head of Civil Defense

The second decree, numbered (6) for the year 2026, designates Colonel Abdul Salam Abdul Rab Ahmed Al-Amri as the head of the Civil Defense Authority. Similar to his counterpart, he also receives a promotion to the rank of Major General. This leadership change aims to enhance the effectiveness of civil defense initiatives across the nation.

Implementation of the Decrees

Both decrees will take effect immediately upon their publication in the official gazette and military bulletins. This swift implementation underscores the urgency of bolstering security and civil defense in the country.
